Today’s daily devotion is based on Matthew 7:10-11, which says, “Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent? If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?”
In this passage, Jesus is encouraging us to trust in God’s goodness and provision. He reminds us that just as earthly parents would not give their children harmful things when they ask for good things, our Heavenly Father will always give us good things when we ask Him.
Sometimes it can be easy to doubt God’s goodness or question whether He truly cares about our needs and desires. But Jesus is reminding us that we have a Father who loves us deeply and desires to give us good things. He invites us to come to Him with our requests, knowing that He will always provide what is best for us.
As we pray and ask God for the things we need and desire, let’s trust in His goodness and provision. Let’s remember that He is our loving Father who desires to give us good things. May our faith be strengthened as we trust in Him and His promises.
Let’s pray: Dear God, thank you for being our loving Father who desires to give us good things. Help us to trust in Your goodness and provision, even when we can’t see what You’re doing. We ask that You would provide for our needs and fulfill the desires of our hearts according to Your will. Help us to trust in You more each day and to grow in our faith. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
