Today, let us meditate on Ephesians 1:7: “In him, we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace.” This verse reminds us that our redemption and forgiveness are not something that we earn or achieve through our own efforts, but rather, they are gifts that we receive through faith in Jesus Christ.
Redemption is a term that describes our liberation from sin and its consequences. The price of our redemption was paid by Jesus Christ on the cross, where he shed his blood as the ultimate sacrifice for our sins. Through his death and resurrection, he has defeated sin and death, and by accepting him as our Lord and Savior, we are made new and free from the burden of sin.
The forgiveness of sins is another amazing gift that we receive through our faith in Jesus Christ. Our sins are a barrier between us and God, and they separate us from his love and grace. But when we confess our sins and repent, God forgives us and wipes away our transgressions. We can approach God with confidence and trust in his forgiveness, knowing that we are loved and accepted by him.
All of this is possible because of the riches of God’s grace. God’s grace is not something that we can earn or deserve, but it is freely given to us through his love and mercy. It is a gift that is offered to all who believe in Jesus Christ, regardless of our past mistakes or shortcomings. We are saved by grace through faith, and this is something that we can never take for granted.
