Daily devotion: 11/03/2023

Good morning, my dear brothers and sisters in Christ. Today’s devotion centers on the beautiful message found in Ephesians 2:8: “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God.” This powerful verse reminds us that our salvation is not something we can earn or achieve on our own, but rather it is a gift from God that we receive through our faith in Him.

It can be easy to fall into the trap of thinking that our good works or religious practices are what make us deserving of salvation. But the truth is that we are all sinners in need of God’s mercy and forgiveness. We cannot earn our way into heaven, no matter how hard we try. Instead, it is only through the grace of God that we are saved.

As we reflect on this message today, let us remember that our salvation is not something to be taken for granted. It is a precious gift from God, one that we should cherish and be grateful for each and every day. Let us also remember that we can never repay God for the gift of salvation. Instead, we can simply offer our hearts and our lives to Him in humble gratitude and service.

Let us pray: Dear Heavenly Father, we come before you today with hearts full of gratitude for the gift of salvation that you have given us through your grace. We acknowledge that we are sinners in need of your mercy and forgiveness, and we thank you for the sacrifice of your son, Jesus Christ, on the cross. Help us to remember that our salvation is not something we can earn or achieve on our own, but rather it is a gift that we receive through our faith in you. Give us the strength and the courage to live our lives in service to you, and to share the good news of your grace with others. We ask all of these things in the name of your son, Jesus Christ. Amen.
